Muscle and Mayhem

Cars cars, and more cars, seems like the backend of this year has been very motor vehicle orientated which to be fair is not a bad thing.

That is,  of course you like cars.

Unlike the dusty high paced world of rallying from last week, this weekend was a lot more subdued as my main subject matter trundled along at an easy pace.

The  Stragglers Annual Classic car show is held at Lake Karapiro, in the Waikato New Zealand. The event is very special with all gate takings going to local children in need.

The day started bleak with heavy rain but by 8:30am the sun broke through and the classic cars arrived in their droves.

The sheer number that had travelled from various parts of the upper North island was amazing and by 10:00am there was close to 600 cars already on display.

Shortly after lunchtime I spoke to one of the organizers and she reported that they believe they had gathered together over 1000 fantastic cars.

So down to the techy stuff.

This week was a lot easier and more relaxing.  I had easy access to the cars on  display and didn't need to pack any zoom lenses. In fact it was all close work so my trusty 18-50mm Sigma and my canon 10-18mm wide angle  proved to be the winners.

Conditions varied during the day with a high percentage of the cars nestled under the trees. The colours where rich and vibrant, so with the sun shining brightly you had to pick your angle carefully.
Needless to say I'm happy with my results, even with a slight over exposure in some areas the results I hope speak for themselves.

Enjoy
